While there is not a predetermined order for conquering them, for most players, Vah Medoh is one of the last Divine Beasts to be conquered. Vah Medoh be seen from many places in Hyrule, as it flies around in a large circle above Rito Village in the northwest corner of the map, harassing the people down below. In the end, once players actually reach Vah Medoh, they are treated to one of the best dungeons in the game, as they must control the pitch of the Divine Beast in order to move obstacles and open doors. It is the only Divine Beast to be airborne, and in turn, practically impossible to reach through conventional means.

Reddit user DudeBroGuyManSirPal successfully reached Vah Medoh without doing the main quest, though the results are a bit disappointing. In the video posted to the Breath of the Wild subreddit, DudeBro attaches Octo Balloons to a tree trunk, rides it into the lower atmosphere, and once they reach the proper altitude of Vah Medoh, glides over to the Divine Beast. Unfortunately, while DudeBro actually makes it to Vah Medoh, there is no collision detection on this version of it, and as such, they fall through the wing and back to Hyrule below. Despite the post being titled, “The game developers weren’t ready for this one,” it definitely seems like they were.
Interestingly, as DudeBro’s video shows, this version of Vah Medoh is still modeled quite intricately even though players will likely never get as close a look of it as in this video. One would expect the underside of the wings and perhaps the head of Vah Medoh to be detailed, but the stone pillars and intricate ancient carvings on Vah Medoh’s wings are visible here as well. It would seem then that when players actually make it to the Vah Medoh dungeon that it brings in a more detailed version of the Divine Beast as when DudeBro is clipping through this version, none of the actual stage is visible.
It is a shame that DudeBro’s creativity (and probably also their patience) went unrewarded in this instance. Octo Balloons don’t lift objects with too much and considering the edit in the video from when DudeBro’s climb first started, they were probably waiting for a very long time. Perhaps if DudeBro used like a crate or a log then they could’ve reached Vah Medoh faster. Either way, this is still a neat Breath of the Wild discovery nonetheless.
