Romero’s recent wins inside the Octagon have not come without controversy, however, as the Cuban has been the purveyor of questionable antics inside the Octagon.
Retired middleweight and fight analyst Brian Stann, took issue with Romero’s antics, as he took to his radio show ‘Toe-2-Toe with Brian Stann’ on Sirius XM Rush 93 (courtesy of LowKickMMA) to express his displeasure with Romero:
Regardless of the controversy surrounding Romero’s recent wins, the fact remains that the former Olympian is now sitting atop the UFC middleweight rankings, and is most likely next in line for the shot at champion Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping’s 185-pound title.
Romero and the champ exchanged words after his win over Weidman, where Bisping gave him the old one finger salute. If a match with Bisping is what is next for Romero’s MMA career, it will be the first title opportunity in his combat sports career.
