The general reaction from the Reddit thread is, unsurprisingly, that fans love the idea of playing Overwatch on a console capable of portable travel, even if the game might be more expensive on the Nintendo platform. Kaplan didn’t dive into the logistics about porting Overwatch onto the Switch, but simply stated that Blizzard is always open to extending itself onto every gaming platform that it possibly can:

It’s no secret that Kaplan is a huge fan of the Nintendo Switch, especially with the Overwatch director calling the highly-acclaimed Breath Of The Wild a masterpiece. Kaplan’s Reddit AMA is well worth the read for any fans of Overwatch, as the thread is full of lesser known trivia about the production of Blizzard’s multiplayer FPS - like the fact that Tracer once shot lasers out her eyes, for instance.

Earlier this week, Kaplan had also told fans that the new character Orisa would be coming later this month after an extended PTR period, and even confirmed in a letter to a fan that Symmetra is autistic, which was Blizzard’s way of promoting mental health awareness and, in Kaplan’s own words, showing that the hero does a great job showing how awesome someone with autism can be.

It’s safe to say that with or without the Reddit AMA, Kaplan is a very vocal videogame director, and we’re sure the news about Overwatch potentially coming to the Nintendo Switch is far from the last news we’ll hear from him.

Overwatch is available now on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
